Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'M DONE!!!!

The bike is awesome! It is thundering and raining here, but in a lull, I was able to take it on a half mile ride. At first I was afraid to even sit on it, givin its sub 14 pound weight , but at the end, I felt comfortable enough to sprint home on the big ring.

I agree that it is quite responsive, but not at the sacrifice of comfort. It is much more stiff and comfortable than my previous bike (a Giant Cadex CFR3), and was a blast to ride. When the weather calms down on Wednesday, I will give a more detailed ride report.

Almost everything was on another builld from before. I will most likely get some Red brifters, Red rear derailleur and a Campy Record front derailleur at some point to get it down to around 12 lbs but for now, I am very happy with the results.

Where do you stop thou. I think here is a good place for now.

I received a 55cm (L) frame by accident -- if someone has a 52cm (M) frame and would like to swap, I'd love to (even if you used your frame). Highly preferential to the bare carbon frame. PF will not be able to swap mine until May or June.

Thanks,
Ben

I hope to see you on the road with that bike, however unlikely that will happen as you're in Cloverdale, how's the riding there?

PF PS2 Aficionado's

Here is my submission. Don't know the weight but it's light without trying. Need to retape the left bar where I missed the inside of the shifter (damn red wine) and I want to replace the thick carbon steerer tube spacers PF provided. I'm at 40mm of spacer, probably a little tall but I think it will work out. I have yet to turn a wheel as we are trying to get our tandem form in before our trip to Tuscany next week. I'll have plenty of time to ride when I get home. If your wondering about the pedals I can't help it I love to walk around and road specific pedals are just a pain in the ass.

Were abouts do you ride. I normally head out towards Langley and out to Abbotsford and then back along Zero ave, loop into White Rock and home. Nice quite roads for the most part.

North Shore (Lower Seymour Conservation Reserves (the quietest roads ever in Lower Mainland), the two mountains, Deep Cove, Marine Drive in West Van), Coquitlam (Belcarra, Anmore, Pinecone Lake-Burke), and sometimes Richmond.

The bridges into Surrey and the valley are terrible, so I don't get much chances to head out east. I've heard good stuff above Zero Ave, haven't gone out there yet.

I used to live over in Deep Cove for a year by the Safeway and trained with the North Shore triathlon club for 5 years. When I moved to Coquitlam, I still would ride out to meet them and turn around and head out towards Mission. That was a while ago when I was training for Ironman and triathlons. I do most of my rides on my own now or with a buddy but no big group rides any more.

If anyone wants a frame or wants to cancel their order for a frame that hasn't arrived, I have an RS2 frame , size small, no fork. It weighs 950g on my scale. I have decided to go with something else. It looks nice, but other options are calling. PM me.

i have to sell my size 49 Nude and FKR8 fork. frame came in at 936g i believe (I'd have to reweigh to be sure of that)
Ran into some problems here and theres no way I'll be able to build it up anytime soon. Anyone looking? Its going to go on EBay this week.

good looking build! very similar to mine. I love the thomson stem.. I'm thinking of upgrading myself for sheer aesthetics. Post bigger/more pics when you do post in the build thread..

Mine's done. 1st ride later today.

Not quite pic ready yet though, as I have spacers above the stem to make sure I like the stem height, and tape could use a clean change (whole bar assembly was a swap over). I have to say red saddle/red tape looks pretty good.

A couple observations: The frame is huge - I mean it feels and looks much larger than my Lemond. The wheelbase is longer, the tubes are gigantic, and you can drive a truck through that gap between the rear wheel and seat tube (at least on 55cm size). The fork legs are enormous bulbous tree trunks. I now really appreciate the design, engineering, and graceful style of the Ouzo Pro. In low angled sunlight, you can see the surface of the forks is slightly varied/lumpy. But, they are light at 351 grams uncut.

I had no headset problems that we spent pages on. I tried the FSA CF first, and think I'll stick with that. 31.6mm FSA K-Force seatpost also fit well without much wiggle.

My initial impression is that its a nice frame, for the price. It does not however exude the same quality feeling found on many US company frames or other European made carbon frames. So I would say based on this one example that ADK can't make carbon frames nearly as well as Trek, Look, Time, Parlee, Colnago, Cannondale, etc. Then again, you pay $$$ for those but its not all in the brand decal.

How did you "nude" your EC90 SLX fork? I was considering the same but didn't know how. Thanks.

I have done a pair of forks before with great success but this time since Rue Sports was doing the bar/stem combo, I just had him strip the forks and clear them for me.

It is a pretty simple process with a fair amount of labour if you do it yourself. Dremel makes it easier but also makes it easier to go to deep when taking of the stickers.

I will strip my cranks down and clear them myself when I have some spare time in the future to have a very clean looking build with as little logos as possible.
