Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was looking for some accessories today, and found myself admiring some race Carbon wheels on a Cannondale. Asked the owner how much for it (the bike)he said 4000.00 dollars, thought that was a deal.. Then he said that's for the wheels, they don't go with the bike. I asked how much for the bike, 12,000 dollars, (16,000.00 total for a USED Cannondale) IT WAS HOT !

I always say I look past non-modern framesets/bikes, but this has definitely caught my attention. Classic HOT.

who cares if you can actually ride it. Bikes are art not transportation. and by art I mean fashion which is decided by very few. So in conclusion. Flip it, slam it and cut that steerer tube down. WTH is wrong with you?

Ha! My assumption was that as an infrequent poster, I couldn't open up a dialogue. Not sure why the system would be set up such that I couldn't reply to a direct message.

In any case, E, I have the same frame, but am thinking about a different customization project. Can you tell me - and apparently, everyone in this thread - where you had the decals made, how you did the design, etc?

Thanks!

I made the designs in CorelDRAW, referencing images from the web and doing a lot of measurements on the actual bike, then I auditioned the design using Photoshop. When I was satisfied with the final design I had them cut on vinyl in an arts supply store nearby that also do custom car decals.

Not to mention the positive-angled stem.

Sorry, would have been hot, but it's a NOT for me.

The background doesn't help. For a picture of a bike, white garage door > Porsche.

Yeah...definitely a not. I'm not sure what "one flaw" you see, but the stem and stack height plus the background....white garage door is much better than the over compensating.

More than one.

Wheels not staged
Dark background. (A car is not a good option because the are so many angles, it distracts from the bike.
Spacer tower
Crank arm not at 3 or in line with down tube
Saddle not level

Not

I posted my bike a while back but this is a much better photo
note i clone stamped out the spacer on top of my stem (10mm spacer) because I'm still playing with the fit
my plans for this bike are a longer stem and shorter reach bars. i think a 3t arx pro would match nicely
maybe an aero wheelset later in the season if I can find the money

looks pretty sweet, not to many decals and a very sharp saddle you must feel every bump with that!
