Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

that saddle needs to be leveled out and drop some spacers/cut steerer. The look is really nice and You got good wheels on there too. It has some real potential for it to be HOT and is close, but not yet HOT for me.

The wheels are really nice. I'd keep the wheels, but possibly take the stickers off if they can be taken off.

Take the stickers off the wheels and replace the bar tape with plain black and it will look much better. Is just too busy now.

i know it is a nice unit for the money but aesthetically, the 105 crankset isn't doing it any favors. It just isn't a pretty piece of aluminum.

No doubt. Here they are with the stickers during my test ride. Wanted to make sure the wheels were okay before i pulled off the stickers and be stuck with them had i already debadged.

All's good....ready to rip em off now!

What do you think of the new bars? those are quite different from the bars you had last.

the bike looks fine. saddle still doesn't look level but that might be the angle of the photo. I know this is hard to comprehend coming from me, but dont worry about it being a HOT. Ride it how it should be set up for you.

I would leave the crankset alone. It's not worth the cost at this point. Ride it and enjoy. This winter (if you have one where you are at) remove the wheel decals and go all black bar tape. It will clean things up and make the frame stand out.

Had a hard time getting used to 105 shifters...and the new look pedals...and there was a rattling sound coming from the front wheel..hence the just OK...

Ok, she is finally presentable (i think). no more planned changes, except using my ultegra 6700 wheels instead of these power tap wheels. cant decide which i like better with the bike.

Not bad for a Trek.

Put it in the right gear combo and put a lower rise stem on (if you can reach) and we'll see where things go.

Lower rise? I believe that's a flipped and slammed 6 deg.

The custom paint job saves the Trek in my opinion. While the Ultegra is highly functional, a black crankset would look soooo much better in this case.

If you look at the headtube of the trek it's like 1/3rd the height of the more modern cervelos and specialized. I guess the -6 deg stem is still lower than a -10 deg slammed stem on a cervelo rs tall headtube.
