Anyone else running low budget rigs? I know I'm not the only one...or at least I hope

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So let's see them, their prices and weights. Component list maybe?

I'll start: $250 total into this. 20 pounds.

As for components:
8 Speed Record: Shifters, crank (54/40), cassette, FD and RD (free)
Campy/Omega 19 wheels (free)
crappy brakes for now until I find some Record ones at a reasonable price. Suntour and Sora
Devinci Carbon/Aluminum Frame 54CM
Bontrager Race carbon fork
Random carbon seatpost (free)
Selle Italia SLR seat (free)
Easton stem in the pics, but changed to a Ritchey since it was shorter
Bontrager select bars

I'm thinking of taking the frame to my next build, when I am richer. Will be 10 or 11 speed and much lighter.

I think it's awesome for $250, but then again I've never ridden a $3000 bike (and prob won't until I can afford parts nice enough)

I'm at roughly $300 for this C-Dale. I picked up the bike for $40, then another $80 to upgrade to 105, 9 speed triple, add used Alex deep V, bladed wheels and cassette and some lightly used Continental 2000 tires and it's up to $300. This was my main rider for three years until I picked up a new Giant OCR-C3. It served as my rain bike until this year when a vintage Nishiki built up with brifters replaced it. But it has new life because my son just told me he wants to start road riding, and this will be the bike he rides.

I'm rocking a $450 Fuji Newest 3.0. I don't know what a $2000+ bike feels like so I'm perfectly happy.

1989 Bianchi Brava - $100
Deda bar tape - $15
New cables and housing - $8
Ciclomaster computer - $12
Nashbar race saddle - free
Nashbar Ventoux 2 pedals - free
Bottle cages - free
Full tune up including regreasing and replacing the ball bearings in both hubs and bottom bracket - free
Seatpost, freewheel, and chainring swap - free

Total spent is $135. The bike probably weighs about 22 to 23 pounds. I've got a picture in my signature, but it's set up in commuter mode (weighing about 25 pounds).

My other bike only cost about $1200. It's about 18 pounds flat with computer, cages, and pedals. It's got a SRAM Rival build and the wheels are Forte Titan wheels.

I used to own a 1988 Trek 1200. I bought it for either $125 or $115. After that I spent about $10 on some bar tape, and another $8 on cables and housing. I already had some pedals and a saddle. So the total cost was about $140. The bike probably weighed about 21 or 22 pounds. It was a very stiff and nice bike. It was just a tad bit too big for me though so I sold it.

Bikes: Trek Émonda, 1961 Follis (French) road bike (I'm the original owner), a fixie, a mountain bike, etc.

My Follis cost my dad $144.44 when he purchased it for me in 1962. In 1976 I had the bike repainted for about $125, and the same year added Phil Wood hubs and Sun Tour cranks (can't remember the cost, but not much).

I purchased new Super Champion rims and spokes about 15 years ago ($75), and added a used Simplex rear derailleur two years ago. Yellow cable housing, platform pedals and a retro water bottle cage from Orange Velo just about completed the package. The most expensive upgrade - not shown - is a Brooks saddle.
