Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Had a nice ride to work. The forcast Southerly came through with a hiss and a roar. Cold and raining. My wife texted. she said do you want a lift home as she was coming into town. I've said yes. She's also going to drop me into town tomorrow morning as well, even though she's not a morning person. I'm a wuss. She's a keeper.

Sorry. That hard swim time is really slow.

I got deep road rash on my elbow from my crash almost 3 years ago. It's still messy.

Glad you're healing up.

I don't even wanna ride in Seattle. Portland is about as crazy as I wanna get.

Speaking of Portland and crazy, I'm watching The Temp again. Ooooh, that 90s Lara Flynn Boyle.

And they go to a Blazers game in the olde Glass Palace! The 90s in Portland were pretty awesome!

Do red lights not apply to cyclists there? You hardly ever stopped.

That's what makes cycling look somewhat more appealing than driving. I think I would go crazy inside of three days driving around there. I hate stop lights.

You just need some don't give a ****. Or just stay fit and single for the next decade and you'll be a hot commodity for the ladies's round two.

That's how you do it, baby! Is that your video? Brings back fond memories.

I hear they give summonses now for all the red lights I used to routinely run without giving it a thought.

By spreading my lack of talent across three sports, I can crush the hopes and dreams of middle-aged cube-dwellers whose doctors told them to work on their cholesterol.

Apparently I'm just a natural.

The really annoying part is they all seem to really enjoy sleeping together, when we get there. But damned if I can get there.

I nearly got myself hit today, running a red light and turning left while on a delivery. Someone pulled out of a spot and made an illegal u turn and nearly squished me between their front end and a parked car. That would've been awesome.

Fortunately my cat-like flexibility allowed me to wrap around the car untouched.
