Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stop pretending you're hardcore cause you ride in 35 degree weather...srs.

You don't enjoy riding in 35 degree, snow, rain and hail. Stop posting messages on facebook and Strava saying how much you "love" getting out and riding in terrible weather. No one believes you, they just think you're insane.

The cyclist understand you like cycling or want to get a training day in. We understand you ride outside because you hate the trainer or have no choice, but when you post dumb things like loving hail smacking you in the eyeballs we just laugh at you.

End of riveting tale, continue on talking about saddles and which chain lube to use...

I won't even mention the non-cyclist who claim that 20 degrees isn't cold and its "nice" out or how the "weather isn't so bad". Dude you sit at home in your heated house, then you get into your heated car and drive to work, then you sit in your heated office all day, come home in your heated car and go to bed in your heated house. You're not a bada$$, stop pretending you're superior to people living in Florida or Texas.

rant alert off

Thanks for clearing that up for us. Obviously, the people who pretend to enjoy snowsports are even bigger liars. Don't even get me started about the people who sleep outdoors in such conditions.

You won't even mention them? You seem to have devoted an entire post to them.

Oh, and I don't know which 35° you're talking about, but neither (F/C) is very extreme.

I don't think Im a hardman but I do enjoy it. If the sun is out 35 is pretty nice. Especially warm late april sun that gives you sun burn. And you get to see stuff like this.

hate riding in the cold, but i think i would enjoy it if i had scenery like that. central indiana is flat with bare fields. pretty boring even when its warm.

I'm not one to HTFU either...only Reynauds stops me from cycling in the cold; potentially losing body parts makes on think not once, not thrice, but twice.

Also a cold breeze. Nobody likes a chill. Too chilly.

What about riding in heat / humidity?

Y'all are full of it. You say riding a bike is fun when we all know that it makes your legs and your butt hurt. I call BS

I have Reynauds. Total PITA. I use chemical warmers and mitts suitable for a Himalayan expedition when doing anything in the cold. BTW, keeping your forearms warm helps.

I'm sure all of those roads look 3 times as good in the summer. Don't tell me otherwise

Yep. Everybody wants sunny and 85, and they lie if they don't (except for the few people in the world that use that strange thing called Celsius which is something like 29 - so sunny and 29!)
