Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's sleeping comfortably. I did buy another one to keep it company though.

The black pic was when I bought it. The blue was after I spent a little time with it.

This is the other one, it is still my baby.

If you are going to do green, you are supposed to do Eddie Lawson replicas. I'm pretty sure that's a rule. Right, @truckstop?

nice review sbxx. Those C7's seem like a deal. I am not real happy with my newish Sram Red brakes on my race bike and sorta thinking of changing them. They are the single pivot and I just don't like the way they center/don't center and the modulation is not as good as any dual pivot brake I've used.

How does the centering work on the C7's? Is there an adjustment screw hidden somewhere?

Rain bike making progress. I had the fork and headset installed in the frame since last week, so tonight I mounted GP4000S'es and Vittoria ultralight tubes onto the new wheels, derailleurs mounted, BB & crank installed, seat post, campy clamp, Romin saddle, and stem mounted. It is starting to look like a bike. Of course, I ordered black barrel adjusters this morning to ditch the white ones, so now I will have to wait for those to go much further.

Not too sure about that. Weather is still crappy. I did complete the Tour of Sufferlandria though.

Fairwheel sells them for $330. I bought them (my wife actually) at Cycling Tech in Boulder. $300.

The wheels were trashed, but kinda crappy anyway, so just to work on it I stuck on a set
of Mavic Ksyriums I had lying around from something, with (gasp) bladed spokes. (It made
me feel all dirty and a little aroused.)

I then rearranged what was bent or dislodged, reset the limits on the back de, and since
it is my size, honor demanded I give it it's first test ride.

I managed to find a 27.2 Kalloy Uno seat post laying around unoccupied, so thankfully I
was able to add some ounces by replacing the carbon fiber one that appeared to be the
original equipment. What's with the see through clear resin window in the thing ?

Is that so you can have a clear spot for the ER doctor to shine his light when it breaks
and goes up your ass ? Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of buying it myself, except that
I suppose that I look ridiculous upon it. pfffffft

If you're overweight and used to grabbing a hand full of brake, the C7s are probably not for you.

That's my disclaimer.

To his credit, he did not say, "They can all bite me." He is still waiting for his various attempts
at curing what ails him to kick in and have some more noticeable effect.

I saw somewhere where he said he got in 500 miles in January, doubtless with time he saved not posting here.

There's an adjustment screw in the back. Fairwheel has a few photos.

You're not using TRPs? You had TRPs.

The Black Prince pads are indeed very good. I've had one scary case of wishing they had more bite on a downhill corner that I took wrong. That has happened on aluminum rims as well, on occasion, so I can't say they're any worse. Certainly nothing like the stories I've heard from the past.

I haven't ridden the Rails in the rain, though.
