Sometimes. But IMO the bigger hassle is our kids, they are still not ready for "adult" food just yet. My wife eats very little meat anyway, but she LOVES seafood which I won't eat. She will generally just sautée a few shrimp and throw them on our pasta or veggies that we eat.

I did swim an outrageous number of laps though. Eight miles in 6 days. I really like to swim but I can't work it into my training schedule, so I hadn't been in the pool for 3-4 months. I'm actually a terrible swimmer, very slow, but I find it very zen and relaxing. It was nice to just swim on vacation for however long I wanted. Really the whole vacation was nice, except that I had just gotten the new bike a week before and I was pining for it a little.

So the three guys I rode with today are all in their 50's and retired. They all get to ride as much as they want.
They are my role models! I have a delusion of dropping back to half time work in the future, but it may not happen and in any event would be 5-10 years from now.

Anyone happen to know the best place in the UK right now to get a Chorus or Record 11 cassette? Is it Ribble with the 10% off?

I was sent about ten of them by a yarn dyer a few years back and it has the added attraction of flames. I only wish I'd snagged a few of the ones that said "I'm bi-craftual."

PBK, Wiggle, Ribble, Merlin. They're all close in price, but who has them in stock, is another story.

I worked as a ticket seller for Cinco de Mayo on the Portland waterfront last year. Nearly everyone else was in their 20s, smoked, drank, tons of tattoos and piercings. (Funniest tattoo on a customer? A guy had "It is what it is" in large letters down his right side from armpit to just above the waist. I asked someone else and they said "Maybe it's his favorite saying." I said "Then why does he need it written down? Are they gonna use it to identify his body? 'Oh? It said It is what it is? That's Marshall.'") I have one hole in each ear, no ink, and, as has been discussed, don't smoke or drink so I was considered pretty damn odd but I wouldn't go so far as to say "edgy". I went back to work Rose Festival with a lot of the same crowd and was tired of answering questions about my lack of color so I put on this:
I was sent about ten of them by a yarn dyer a few years back and it has the added attraction of flames. I only wish I'd snagged a few of the ones that said "I'm bi-craftual."

I had always wanted one but didn't know what to get. I told myself if I lost weight, I could get one. I have a friend from my home town that is actually a pretty talented artist, so I had him give me my first - a pig and a cow. I claim I got them to show respect to the animals I eat. Which is kind of corny, but whatever. My other two are a gnome (my friends rock band's shtick was gnomes) and a deer head (the one in my avatar, because I thought it looked cool). But yeah, now I've started and I want more. I kind of enjoy the pain associated with getting them. *shrug*

Golden Tate signed a 5 year deal with the Lions today. Hope they have donut shops in Detroit with good locks on them.

i was offered a full time job today. i'm going to take it pending some final details. it's way outside what i've been doing for the past 20 years, and it's a huge pay cut from my previous job, but i'm kind of stoked about doing something so completely different. i'll have to continue freelancing on top of it, but the idea of a steady paycheck and health insurance were super appealing. also, one of the 9 mile routes to get there is mostly bicycle friendly and on a parkway along the river so i may be able to become a bicycle commuter.
