Hot or not help! What color of Conti GP4000SII would look best on my F5? Black, Red, Orange, or Green? I would say red but afraid that would be too much red. Help please. Or stay with white?

+2 for black (as a tone down). I don't think the black bartape/saddle are nec., but maybe peel those rim stickers with the help of a hair dryer.

HotRNot thread, moving along nicely. Someone cries to the mods. HotRNot shut down. Then reopened but only in politically correct phraseology. So this thread is created and the other one withers on the vine. This one thrives. Yay, hot bikes (and some not so hot but interesting nonetheless) continue! Then this thread sort of withers and the other one picks up and I go visit both today and not much on either one… lol. I'm for less Mod intervention and more criticism so I'm HERE to stay. (Have you ever noticed that you can improve with criticism, but praise isn't very helpful?)
Now, where are some more bikes, c'mon, toughen up and post them here!

Here's my entry:
Ok, I know that this isn't very hot based on a number of reasons and I actually agree. I just don't particularly like this frame but with a new baby here, my $ investments aren't headed to my currently sufficient bike garage any time soon. However, the frame rides great and I do have a few new items (that were necessary) since last I posted this on the other thread. Oh, and yes, the photo isn't good and that's my fault, not the fault of my camera. (I'm a 20+ yr pro photographer, lol, so I get no breaks) But if you had a specific criticism or suggestion other than "replace the frame" or some other very expensive change, I really would love to hear it...

The downside is changing handlebars is a bit of a pain due to cable management.

You could at least try to stage it properly.

I would like to see it with white saddle and tape, but I'm not actually sure if it would work.

This forum is for presenting your bike in all it's glory to be critiqued by other members. If you have thin skin, best to post your ride in the original Hot R Not, where criticism is limited to "not".
Some guidelines:
1) For best results, stage your bike properly:
a) against a neutral background
b) drive chain out with chain on large crank and one of the smaller cassette cogs
c) cranks at any angle except 90 or 45 degrees
d) remove seat bags, water bottles, lights, etc. (we really just want to see your bike, not your accessories)
e) valve stems at 6:00 and, if possible, tire logos properly aligned on rim.
2) Be prepared to handle criticism and not take this thread too seriously.
3) If you must criticize try and be constructive and not mean. We all can enjoy a good ribbing now and then and some tongue in cheek humor, but let's not get carried away or make it personal.
4) A "not" should be followed by a pic of your bike. (Unless you've posted it here previously)
(if I left something out, let me know and I'll add it)
I've been through the gauntlet with my bike so I can tell you, it's not that bad. Just have fun, post your ride and let's enjoy.

Yes! I'm laughing because I posted my bike because I KNEW someone (thank you Isberrios) would say, "well then post your bike!" So I did. Thanks gsa for your comments. Truly appreciate them. Sadly, I just replaced my bars late last year and really don't care for the bars I chose. So I'd love to replace them again, but will probably ride these brand new bars for a little while. Plus the bartape is brand new (LizardSkins, which I love) as well so they're not likely to be changed anytime soon… But when I replace them, it will likely be with compact bars. I like the look and it actually fits my style of riding as well.
Ok, I won't ask you guys why it's a Not (I enjoy reasons, I think it helps the discussion as well as educating anyone reading them) until I come back and properly stage it and photograph it, which I shall do! And then you can shoot it down for reasons unrelated to staging!
