Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So far this weekend I've not had any French fries. I'm having withdrawal issues.

No. We don't want you spreading your charm anywhere else.

Do they have Garlic Fries near you? We had those last week, they were fantastic!

If not, consider sweet potato fries. They are good too.

It's peach time in our house. I just came back from picking about 20. There must be at least 50 more on the tree.

Yum.

I'm not quite sure what that means. I do know that if they choose not to hire anyone they have to close the job, notify everyone that interviewed and they can't open it back up for interviews for at least two or three months, and that is not what has happened here. Also, I have another interview for an identical HR job in that office again on Tuesday.

I have to fiddle with Microsoft outlook today. They keep asking about it during my job interviews. How hard can it be.
It's not as godawful as Lotus Notes, but it's close.

One of the guys in my club came to today's ride with a brand new Seven 622 slx. It's a custom frame made of CF tubes, Ti lugs and Ti chainstays. It was gorgeous.

I don't actually go to that sub-forum. I'm not a long distance rider. I'm primarily a commuter with a 25km one way commute. For me a nice ride is 50km (approx 30 miles). A long ride is a metric century (100 km).

I've seen one of those, they are drool-worthy.

I've always wondered if they were any less explosive than regular CF. You know, the Ti might mellow them a bit and all.

That's because I pass a shingle pit and lots of farms on my way to work. One wet ride and I have to completely clean and relube the chain. It gets old doing it daily.

And it's not fun slogging for just over an hour into the, usually cold, rain.

That shouldn't be a problem for a steel fan.

A little under 25 miles today. Stopped in the middle of my ride to help a new cyclist with a flat - he didn't know what he was doing but, to his credit, he had everything he needed to get back up and running - spare tube, tire lever, wrench (IGH), pump. He was very grateful of me and was in awe that 3 or 4 other riders checked in on us as we were working. I believed him when he said that he'd pay it forward whenever he could help someone else in need. While teaching him Changing a Flat: 101, the downpour started so, after he was on his way, I decided to cut the ride short and head back for home. Great ride, regardless.
