...don't let these macho girlymen bully you, @coasting. Lots of guys sing songs from Cats, Oklahoma and West Side Story while cooking gourmet bean gruel.
Just this afternoon, I myself threw together a double batch of zucchini bread while singing I Enjoy Being a Girl, from South Pacific.

Don't tell @rpenmanparker.

Two former pros test aero vs lightweight now that they are retired.
- Consensus, at the speeds most people ride, aero doesn't provide any benefit.
- Lightweight bikes provide more benefits for climbing and has more torsional stiffness than an aero.
- Aero bikes are less comfortable
- Predictably though, since they are strong riders (Cervelo Team rider), aero does provide benefit if you are at that level. 300 watts or more at greater distances.
- Perception of your bike is most important though. Even though for aero, yourself, helmet, wheels are more important than the frame, but your impression of the frame can dictate your enjoyment of the bike.
Hahaha
Because it's hilarious. They can provide as many numbers as they want, only the results matter. The result is, today's best riders aren't riding must faster or finishing races faster. The speeds are less than 1kmph and times are not better. Once you put a rider on these bikes, the gains they advertise from simulations and wind tunnel testing, seems to matter not.
What these companies advertise to justify their extreme pricing, is horsecrap in actual real results in races, not theoretical potentials in a wind tunnel.
So why wouldn't I care? It's too funny to ignore. As you say, buy what you want, ride what you want. It's still hilarious to see someone spend $10K on an aero bike when their gains would be zero vs than buying a steel from 30 years ago made for racing.
Not to say I will be buying a steel and I wouldn't want say a Ridley Helium. Call me hypocrite, it's true, but I still don't find the cycling industry any less amusing.

I'm listening to live music right now, in the comfort of my own home. Not even looking at the performer.

he even said, "if i were a traffic police i would seize the video as evidence..." well do it! you ARE a policeman. So what if you are on a horse and assigned to other duties. if you see a crime, deal with it. what if he saw a murder? ignore it because he is doing crowd control?

Why misconstrue my expression of personal preference? Do as I do and enjoy it just how you like. What could make more sense than that? Oh, and I never said anything about being alone, just at home. You're welcome to come listen to Beethoven with me any time you like.

It's true. Cold air isn't good for our hearts or lungs. Respiratory and cardio is working overtime in cold weather. Plus the bulk from multiple layers of clothing, at least I do, I look like a block. All around, I'm working harder to go slower. It's still fun, sometimes.

question for cat owners
so yesterday i was walking in a park and this really friendly ginger cat saw me from a distance and came running up to me. he then proceeded to walk through my legs and rubbing against my legs and then lay down in fron of me and rolled over to have his belly rubbed. i obliged and he purred and the leaned across and bit me! it was not a propper bite but a friendly nip on my hand.
sheesh..i was rubbing his tummy and he bites me! what gives? can owners explain.

london is the greenest city with parks everywhere, but in the City probably not. Too many offices.

I doubt most people would appreciate the difference between say Beats and AKG's K550 when listening during their commute. Certainly not between their tiny home theatre speaker vs floor standing transmission line speaker.
I've heard some people say, tiny home theatre speakers sound better because it looks better with their decor...
