sbxx, we have a track racer that rides that bike. He has arms like legs, and legs like people, and hasn't broken that bike yet. First time I saw him and it, I asked, and he loves it. I took a close look at those brakes, and that fork, and I thought it was one of the cooler things I have seen. Course, I would just get it to piss ol Zymphad off, as not only is it aero, it has cool paint to make it even more aero.
As you say, I am an obvious fan of Ridley, but there are so many cool bikes out there, I chose to experiment. n+1 would be another Ridley. I came close to a Helium before the NP, but I kept coming back to the NP.
So. Yes.

I talked to primov8. He's had a couple S2s, the Norwegian S3, a 2012 S5, the De Rosa Merak, and his Noah. The Noah was his go-to bike and it's the only one he still owns.

@sbxx If you have something else to ride in the interim I would wait for the S5 with the discount.
But in either case, I wouldn't spend my hard-earned on anything I wasn't passionate about. And if you're not blown away with the test ride(s) you can then proceed with plan B. But not for nothing is patience a virtue.

Using glass bead-woven fabric, Sugoi bike jacket bursts with reflectivity - Edge - SI.com
Freaky, link just posted to our club's FB page by a member, for the "Nightcrawlers amongst us". Totally reflective jacket, not reflective highlights. Look at the video. OMG. I can actually have a black normal looking jacket with a pocket that glows in the dark. AWESOME.
And look at the glowing booties too.

Hey ya'll. Just dropped in to give the verdict in the court case.
They plea bargained it to a high court misdemeanor, equates to a felony, lying to a peace officer. She got 6 months jail. 2 years probation. Two of my club mates went to the hearing today for sentencing. She still didnt get it. She couldnt understand what the big deal was and even argued with the judge.
Ahhhhh yeahhh..... good times....

LoP has discovered "Scandal". (I am not amused.) He's enjoying it a great deal as, apparently, does much of America. I think the plotlines are highly convoluted and I've seen more convincing acting in a middle school production of "The First Thanksgiving." But w/e. At least it keeps him home/out of the coffee shops and gives the poor barristas a break from his unwanted advances
zym, what have you against Baristas?

Miguel is gone. RIP. Apparently he had been busy and was a building out quite a spread in my ass.
I did learn that having a resting HR in the mid 30's causes much consternation and need for explanation at the hospital. The low HR alarm was set to go off at a considerably higher level. Also learned that I was quite a bit older than the chief surgeon and the anesthesiolist. The surgeon was a U of I grad and a Bears fan and the anesthesiologist a bit of a Deadhead (he gave me some awesome stuff to enjoy before going under.. damn that was good).
Surgeon was also a triathlete and estimates 2-3 weeks off the bike... I'm good with that, even though I am already ****zing about my off season weight gain.

Peloton Shelter Dog
Second RF vascular ablation procedure ni 15 months. Open wound on my ankle: pain levels down 80-90%. No post surgical pain. Just like last time. I think they fixed me.

I lack patience. According to Excel this morning, 56 Ultegra S5 will arrive around Christmas for a test ride. That's a long time away for a bike I might not like as much as the R3SL. Crash replacement is a solid discount, but MSRP is still spendy. And I have to give the R3SL to Cervelo.

Ridley has a lot of stack, but not as much as Cervelo. Slam it with the -6 Enve stem would work. Ride will be nice and stiff. Internal routing, integrated brakes, and fast enough for Greipel. What do you think? I know LAJ has ridden the hell out of his Ridley. This would be the one.

Please note, I'm am still a bit buzzed on what ever they gave me at the hospital.

Sort of, stems from a saddle sore that was there when I was getting ready from CX last season. I landed on it during a less than ideal remount and caused some sort of hematoma which seems to have interfered with it healing like a normal saddle sore. We (me with discussion with my doctor) left it alone so I could train / race last season and hoping maybe it would resolve. It did not, and became a big bunch of stuff that had to go.
