Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Frozen crab cakes just sounds unappealing, not to mention gluten filled.

In other words... gross.

Your first point is exactly right. But it is not at all true there is only one such clustering for crab cakes and it is in Maryland. Top notch product can be had in any major city in the country, and I'm sure a lot of other places as well.

Of course I am doing it again. You might just as well have said, "You are still doing it," or "You do it constantly," or "You always do it." It's what I do. But the "doing it" thing works both ways. Other folks here are "doing it again" too. There is a very strong prejudice here to swallow daily-life mythology without question. Home cooking is always the best, commercially prepared foods are universally terrible in both quality and wholesomeness, crab cakes are only good in Maryland.... Maybe that stuff makes some folks feel safe and warm in their imaginary cocoon, but it is just silly. That is not the world we live in. Wake up and smell the brioche.

And home cooking IS always the best.

Some fine restaurants are ok also, so long as they get a monthly surprise health department inspection.

Notice the emphasis on fine restaurants.

Why don't you just once come out and say this illusive "point"? How does being coy contribute to the progress of a discussion? Fatiguing is being told there is a mysterious point over and over again with no elucidation.

Yes, but I know as many restaurants where the quality of the food makes the restaurant fine as the other way around. It is not all about the linen, flatware, crystal, snooty waiters and high prices.

My 1200 calories a day seems to be working, although I'm starting to crack. I can't keep this up much longer.

I'm with you. I feel bad for the folks who can't tolerate gluten, but I don't see how that should affect the rest of us.

Coy? That you don't get it doesn't mean that people are being coy, it just means that you're not getting it. Again, you're CAT6 MUP racing during a group friendly. We're not racing. Sure, every once in a while we'll race to the town limit sign, but you're not content with that. You seem to want to race to the 'Yield' sign, and the bus stop sign, and the fire hydrant, and look - a pot hole! Let's race to that, too. It's not a competition if the other participants are unwitting or unwilling, so chill with the constant efforts to assert how knowledgeable, smart, clever, etc, you are. Consider also, that this is coming from one that clearly enjoys riling up the occasional pissing match and has a high tolerance, as such.

...if you're gonna eat crab, you buy them or catch them live, steam them in a big pot with some seasoning, and pick the meat out of them yourself, washing it down with copious amounts of beer and munching on the occasional hushpuppy. I mean, that's just how it is done, people. I don't think I ever ate a crab cake until someone invited me over and seved them for supper...out of politeness.

I needed to send Garmin another .fit file yesterday- now they want the matched non-bad file from Garmin 2 that I recorded at the same time as my data-drop-out file from Garmin 3. I connect Garmin 2 to my desktop and for some reason Windows media player opens up and this video starts playing. No idea why. I totally forgot we even had this video. Its from a snorkel trip we took in Oahu maybe 5 years ago, swimming with some spinner dolphin. Amazing experience, they just totally ignored us and would swim around in slow circles, sometimes coming within inches of us.
