sometimes wind direction, weather affects my route
but usually i play it by ear
watch traffic etc as i go
almost always take...

if the stem is out too far it can cause a squeak

Are you sure those are v brakes ?
cause that sounds like those center pull type
and the pads are all the way in
if you pull pad out some and readjust cable
will give it better braking
also...

get a small nut to set the link on with the pin...

get a small nut to set the link on with the pin hole in the link
over the hole on the nut
and needle nose to hold the pin
then a square hit with a small ball peen or such
just a little pop

my lock is big enough i can lock a rear spoke to the frame
they can take it but not ride...

walmart assemblers will often leave alot of extra cable
so they might just fit.
if not a cable set from walmart is 7 bucks

some of these peeps are spoiled got all the money
but some of us have to make do
for a bike ur just tryin to get on the road cheap ...

but if i was touring in UK and my bike broke i could make a roadmaster mountain bike front derailer (thats how it should be spelled) work...
