Good eye on the rear stays... that does certainly narrow it down. So, Grand Prix is a possibility.

It certainly has some decent upgraded components, some of which I could use, so I might buy it,...

It's pretty close to me, and it's got some nice bits that I may be able to use even if the frame isn't all that great.

Seller says it has a Campy front hub, Phil Wood rear hub, and Brooks saddle....

Maybe try adding some keywords to your title... like "Vintage Schwinn World Voyageur 56cm Road Bike." I wouldn't be scared of the Schwinn name. For someone who knows bikes, they'll know it's not a...

Very cool build! Is it bare metal, or clear coated right now? It's kinda neat to see the brazing at the joints, though your paint scheme sounds like it would be awesome.

Thank you for letting me know about that. I inspected it carefully, and it's fine as of right now. Is this something I should just inspect regularly before I ride, or should I start shopping for a...

Yes, it is quite a mismatch as-is. Saddle and post look goofy; they will go on my mountain bike. Vestigial freewheel with cogs; ran out of budget for a track hub? Bars are way uncomfortable and...

Found a Trek 613 - rides great, but there's work to be done!

Just bought this '82 Trek a couple days ago from the local Craigslist. It unfortunately went through a single speed "conversion" and is missing most original components. However, I took it for a ride...

Classic components on modern bikes?

I've seen many examples of classic frames built up with decades-newer components (brifters, aero wheels, etc.). But, I haven't seen many of the reverse; modern frames built up with vintage...

Stupid question I'm sure, but here it goes:

On this brake, what are the metal fingers that are mounted under the brake shoes...

I'm in need of a proper road bike; mostly for early morning rides with my wife down a nearby country road. We've just gotten into biking after a long absence, and all I have right now that fits is an...

Wow, very tasteful! I'm on the hunt for a chrome-framed Schwinn and it'd be mighty tempting to copy your build, more or less. Chrome + brown/tan theme certainly works!
