Over 2,500 miles on the bike since I installed...

Over 2,500 miles on the bike since I installed the fenders, and I haven't had any problems even with the bare ends of the stays exposed.

I ended up not even installing the stay caps at all. The stays are just bare. No big deal.

Yeah I watched that RivBike video several times before even ordering these fenders. I started the cut on each stay with a Dremel with a diamond blade disc in it, but that actually didn't work too...

It's kind of a bummer when stuff doesn't work the way it's designed to work. It makes the product seem like junk.

The ones in the pic at the top of the thread are held on by the metal brackets that the stays go through. I don't think you would be able to pop them off accidentally. Those are the ones I see on...
