Scales were telling me 1.5kg left to go this morning.

Stuck to the diet amidst all the temptations of NYC. But, ate at the Carnegie Deli for lunch and enjoyed some Matzoh ball soup, hot pastrami and potato latke. Waitress was nice; and no sharing charge. Water and tea for dinner to set my tummy at ease. NYC baby, NYC!!

There is seriously way too much good food in this city. We're taking a teammate out for her birthday tomorrow night--it was tough to choose between Ethiopian, Japanese, Brazilian, and Turkish...settled on the latter, and it's going to rule.

Suitemates eat ramen all the time. I love me some ramen, but I realize that stuff is about as mad as food can get (sodium, msg, bleached flour...). I've managed to hold strong and not have any so far...but it smells delicious.

I made it through four years of college without ever eating Ramen. I am proud of this. Actually, I've never eaten Ramen at all. Now I feel like I'm missing out.

Ramen is quite possibly the greatest thing of all time. I don't care how bad it is for you, every once in a while I'm having a bowl with some crackers. Can buy a pack of 12 packets for like $2 or something absolutely ridiculous.

my fat ass ballooned up to 180 while I was on vacation. Too much beer, too much cracked conch, too little riding. Diet started yesterday..

Keep forgetting to weigh myself in the morning. I'm missing a couple data points now. Even though daily weights may not mean as much as a running average (I don't know the term - I got my B in Statistics by guessing on the multiple choice final), they really help motivate me, although the last two days I've been on target.

If I lose 7 lbs I'll be at my lightest since this spring, and before that since mid-1999. If I lose the 7-8 lbs more I want to lose, I'll be at my 1995 weight, give or take. My best years were around then so that would be kind of nice. I'm much slower now but have "much power" compared to back then (quote is Jan Kirispuu's description of his speed versus power after winning a stage in the Tour).

so far so good - down 3lbs, best thing I could have done was get my wife all excited about running a half marathon!

For the past 3 weeks she has been up at the crack of dawn to run or ride with me and is cooking wholesome healthy meals for the both of us! Signed us up for a half marathon on her birthday to keep us motivated!

Hardest part is staying away from the beer! Have some delicious pumpkin beer in the fridge...

good luck!

I've only been to NYC once, and my wife and I ate like kings for a week. But I ended up lighter than when we arrived because I ran the Central Park loop every morning and we walked all day long.

Into the 3rd week of this thread and diet

I think I've moved to the next phase, which is eating less food (in addition to excluding cakes, cookies, ice cream, chips and beer). I ate pretty well for lunch yesterday, but, then I was cool having a couple of pieces of chocolate and a lot of water for dinner. Then this morning, I was fine with a small bowl of cereal (rather than large) and the end of a baguette with some peanut butter; 20 oz gatorade for lunch and a bowl of soup for dinner with some crackers and bread. I still eat as much as I want; but, my system, at least for the past 24+ hours or so, has been cool with less food.

I love him growing up, with a progression of fascinating books to see you through from 8 to adult. I think I have read all of them, and particularly love the macabre short stories in "Kiss Kiss" and "Someone like you" (I think were the titles - been over 20 years since I read them!).

I think brit kids lit is much better than american stuff. Dahl and Enid Blyton (sp?) were my childhood.

I must have been bloated from the immodium. There's no way I lost 3lbs in as many days.

Yeah I love that stuff, although it does hurt my teeth. I have a bowl of the regular GoLean before bed most nights. Not quite as good, but fewer calories.

Bikes: two wheeled ones

Kashi stuff is awesome. I love all their cereals. The GoLean, GoLean Crunch, GoLean Crisp. They've also got some blueberry fields or something, some strawberry fields, all delicious.

I have to let golean crunch soften for ~ 10 minutes before I can eat it, or else it tears up my mouth. Still darn tasty (and a little crunchy still) though.

Oh, holding steady at 2 lbs/inch. I guess I better leave this thread.

Speak for yourself, buddy! I'm at 1.9 and my coach just told me that now is the time for me to lose 5 pounds...guess I have to stick with it, even though I've kinda said F it lately.

I think the 2 lbs is for guys. But, I don't know if you have 5 lbs to lose. Maybe lifting and doing a slight body recomp over the off season is a better idea.

Are you doing any horizontal rowing motions? Dumbbell rows or seated cable rows?

Have you done inverted rows? I did them for the first time over the summer and I'm a big fan now.
