Special Thank you to Don in Austin...
I don't want to start a new thread, but Don from Austin is a class Act gentleman. I truly thank you for his invitation and hospitality to show his hometown. I also got "school" well on the the true value of a cyclist- "Doesn't matter how fancy your bike or the sup-up looking gears you have, rather the passion with the individual and the engine behind the man is truly the definition of such character"
Look what he rides with to lead me to the hills ...
In the meanwhile, I got a real treat to rent this bike for the week. Special thanks to Mike who hook me up at Bicycle Sport Shop.
Btw, if I haven't said it before I wanted to say "Austin is the most friendliness cycling city I have ever been".
Thank you to you all.

Well...now I know what to look for! That pic of Don looks suspiciously like Lost Creek/Barton Creek...which would mean he showed you some good hills!

I have been trying to ride the full length of Lost Creek Blvd. every week. I like to go early in the morning. I don't set any uphill speed records, but I don't stop or walk either.

I rode with Don on a Moontower tour one early weekend morning, and I concur. He replaced a bottle cage bolt that had worked itself loose, and offered help installing a mountain derailleur and cassette on my cross bike to make getting up the hills easier. I still need to take him up on that.
