9/19 - 30 miles. Also crossed 2000 mile mark today since mid-April when my season started. For "16 Mph avg" guy like me it's a good milestone!

9/20 - 22 miles. Some dirt, some asphalt, and a fair amount of limestone.

I just broke 100 miles in a calendar week for the first time. A lot of you have done that many times already, and even done that in one bike ride, but it's a first for me and I'm pretty happy about it right now.

Great morning ride to work (yes, I had to work on a Saturday)- high 50s, hardly a breeze. Doesn't get any better.

After work I rode up to the Fort Worth Stockyards, probably about 12 miles judging from Google Maps. Before getting there, I called the wife and asked if she wanted to meet me there for lunch, which she did. Right after that, I was feeling kind of pumped up and decided to pass someone on the MUP. There's a paved path and a stone path; I went on the stone path to get around them and when I popped up on the paved path, I bent my rear rim!! I could still ride it but it was pretty terrible. I called my LBS and asked them about shops on that side of town, and he gave me a couple ideas, neither of which were all that close.

So I put the bike in the trunk of my wife's car and we went to the first one. The guy looked at the wheel and said, "Doooood! you need a new rim!" I left that one and we went to the other one. I showed the wheel to the guy at the counter and he walked it back to some (20-something) "kid" who put it on the trueing stand and spun it, took it out, HIT IT ON THE FLOOR, checked it, hit it AGAIN, then played with the spokes for about 10 minutes and it's.... really not too bad. So the wife left me there and I rode home. Probably about 25-30 miles total.

25 miles in the morning before work, a medium effort with a couple of climbs and a couple of sprints. 21.3mph average.

After work, I did a 10 mile road ride on the MTB to let my muscles map out the geometry again before tomorrow's time trial.

As an aside; Scott, do you want to borrow my PTap? I'm taking it off until next racing season,a nd wanted to see if you wanted to get some numbers.

Yea, that'd be really cool man. If I could just borrow it for a few weeks that would be awesome!

Tomorrow I am going to hurt. 1300 & 1100' climbs. I'll let you all know how it goes

8 miles of singletrack today.

I did the Reagan Park TT today, over 104 MTBers showed up, and I was in the Expert's again. I felt great, and when the trail wasn't technical I was very fast. Me and another rider got into a duel from mile 6-8. He was on a hardtail, so I kept on drilling it in the rooty and downhill sections and opening up a gap, but when the trail got technical, he closed it again. At mile 8, I shifted down 2 gears and drilled it to get some momentum for a steep, loose hill, and my chain snapped.
After cussing and giving the finger to the sky, I began my walk back to the car, and while sitting on the saddle and pushing the bike with my left leg, I smacked my calf on my pedal na dbruised it really badly.

Now I've got an XTR chain and I'm going to do the trail again before work tomorrow morning.

What a Specialized shill. So did the resort have to replace the brake rotors after you were done?

Gary, wanna do some singletrack next Sunday?

9/21-54 miles wv state championship RR.

The most freaking ridiculous climbing I've ever done in my life. It was very tough mentally and I wanted to quit so bad on the last 'killer' climb. Once you thought it was over, it would be a switchback and more climbing, and it seemed like it never ended. Made Climbing out of the valley on Boston Mills or Ira seem like a piece of cake. I did learn that I'm a climber from this race though. Ended up in 2nd place in the cat 4/5. Beat all the old farts.... i mean masters too.

Qdoba queso burrito plus pizza and wings to recover. yum.

Wait, nevermind. I keep on forgetting that I'm going to Kentucky next weekend. Maybe I could get a ride on on Thursday.

I did 25 miles at Reagan Park again today. After breaking mine yesterday, we opened up the shop so I could get a new XTR chain (what I should have gotten before). I had one spill today, I jumped and got some air off of a little log ramp, and I smacked the left end of my bars against a SOLID tree and went down pretty good. My new saddle now has severely bent rails and looks like one of those Selle SMP saddles with the nose pointed down. The crash even offset my stem. After that I got back on, fixed the stem and rode another 17 miles. Not a soul in sight.

9/19 - 27.4 miles
Rode around Morton. Rode on the Morton Community Bikeway / Fon-Du-Lac River Trail into downtown East Peoria and back.

9/20 - 43.1 miles
Rode to Downtown Peoria and the 'flooded' waterfront. Was thundering on the way back into Morton after lunch in East Peoria. Some raindrops fell on me on east end of East Peoria while riding back but stayed dry in Morton. Later on, i rode around Morton rest of afternoon. Most miles in day this late in year.

9/21 and 9/22 - no miles
Got flu bug but hoping to get miles in later this week.

9/19 - 24 miles
Came across another cyclist crossing left to right and joined up with him for a bit. He was riding a bit slower that me (17-18mph) but I decided to give cut him some slack since he was over twice my age at 78 years old. Fun to actually meet somebody out where I live.. good time.

9/20 - 20 miles
The brother in law was in town so we went out for a quick 20 miles. Got in a couple of 'firsts' for him, he tried an energy gel, spilling it all over his shoe and we did a little drafting. Both were entertaining from my standoint!

9/22 - 21 miles
Quick out and back, made the mistake of going out with the wind, felt really good with a nearly 22mph average for the first 10 miles. Turned around and started to suck it. Two miles from home the average was 19.8 so I told my legs to shut up and off I went. Ended up with 20 mph average. Good ride.
