Need help with bike decision
This is my first post but I have a few questions that I can hopefully get some help with. I have just within the past probably 5 to 6 months have gotten pretty in to mountian biking and I have had the same bike for about a year and a half now. It is a GT avalanche 1.0 and I need a new bike. It is atarting to fall apart and I need a bike that is up to my riding ability now. I'm looking for more of a cross country bike but something with full suspension and more travel than your average XC bike. I do races for fun but I'm not crazy about it. So I basically need a bike with alot of travel, relatively light ( just not downhill heavy), full suspension, comfortable, and an overall mean ass bike. Any help? I've been looking at Santa cruz and Rocky mountain a little bit.

somthin like the santa cruz blur xc, or the cannondale rush would fit with what you described, go testride some stuff and see what you like. If xc is what your lookin for but you want longer travel stuff with 110-120mm travel should do well, 140 is more all mountain, and you will end up with a heavier bike, although my friends c'dale rize is really light i've got a rush and i think both bikes weight almost the same with the stock parts but his bike cost more

I'm building a 140/150mm XC trail bike right now. (SC Blur LT) It should come in lighter than my Epic XC race bike.

Yeah I was looking at the LT and it seemed like the travel was there but it seemed kinda heavy but I guess that I don't need to worry too much about that. It seems like an all around sweet ass bike. How much is it going to weigh do you think about? That is the bike your building

Hey thanks for the help though I never really thought to look at cannondale. What do you think about Rocky Mountain though, like their slayer models and stuff?

SC Superlight is basically a Heckler that's started drinking Mountain Dew at a young age and got its growth stunted.
Superlight RP23 - Fox 32mm Float - X.9 build - 23-24lbs
Granted, both of these builds could be done differently to save more weight or possibly $$$. This is just a generic ballpark from SC's site.

So whats the difference between the Heckler, the Blur LT, and the Superlight? They all seem pretty similar besides the superlight being smaller

So basicall the rear travel and weight are the huge difference. I feel like the superlight is kinda weak and has too little travel. So then besides the travel what is the difference between the Heckler and the Blut LT? And I know their rear suspension is different but how? and yes I am pretty new to this. Thanks for all the help by the way guys
