Did my first MTB Race! Woot!

Did the H2H Dark Horse Gallop at Stewart yesterday here in NY its rained 15 of the past 18 days..... 90% of the course was mud and water... no speed anywhere on the course.. just slow muddy crawling.. Painful.. and fun.. My victory was surviving =)

Little rain and mud never hurt anyone right?...

at the end before the final hill climb on the access road, there is a bridge across a usually stagnant stream... well with the absurd amounts of rain its a raging stream now.. Yeah I hit it wrong.. and went face first.. bike attached Into the stream... =) On a side note.. I came out sparkly clean lol

Congrats! Especially with the cleaning bonus at the end! I volunteered at one of our local races recently (challenge at mountwood) and the course was uber-muddy! Although it's not as fun as biking on packed earth, a lil' mud and water can still = a good time....just not for your components.

Again, congrats on your first race!

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.

Way to go. Rinse and repeat.

I managed 5 out of 7th in my category. I had no intentions of beating anyone.. but I was the turtle that could, 1 DNF'ed im counting that as beating =) lol and one guy 10 seconds behind me with a small fight on the hill to the finish..

Im just happy I survived.. however, ill be sticking to my road bike for a while after that, My back is busted all to hell (racing with a broken back literally broken bones and pushing yourself is bad..) =) Ill go enjoy my smooth road stuff and build endurance and speed for these once in a while Mtb whims
