What's that creak?

First ride on a new bike today. Everything went well, but there is an odd creak sound. Hard to tell exactly where it is, I thought maybe the crank area, but may be higher up. Didn't effect the ride, but am concerned it's a sign of bigger problem. Or is it just break-in?

Ideas?

check your seat post clamp, the seat clamp, headset, stem, crank arm bolts and bottom bracket. Did I miss any?
Just make sure everything is torqued correctly. Any one of these can create an odd and annoying creaking noise. Good luck.

Usually....first thing I check is the seatpost insertion. Put a little bit of white lithium grease on it.
