Kona stab deluxe. Nice.
Yesterday I went to a DH bike park and rented a Kona Stab deluxe 2008 model.
Wow! It was so nice! It did everything I hoped out of a DH bike.
I am not exactly an expert, all I can say is that the bike rock gardens were gotten through and control was kept on the steepest gnarliest sections. I rode on their hardest run and the only weak link was my fingers and feet trying to cling on to the grips and pedals.
I paid ¥9000 for 1 days rental, about $90.
I am tempted to buy one of these bikes now, but I fear I won't go out to the mountain enough to justify it, so I guess I can keep on renting, and dreaming.

I would love to down hill....
(I bought the Kona dawg as more of an introduction into some light downhill/fr stuff) but.. to my dissapointment theres no downhilling or decent stuff around.
Awesome though man, glad you had fun.

Nothing to ride for DH? You're only a few hundred miles away from some of the best resorts in the world!

^^ I don't have the money, I don't have an international drivers license either, so I can't leave the borders of Germany.

OMG yes if I was that close to the Alps... etc etc...
I'd be for finding the money and a fake ID or something... freeking use the train or hitchhike... or *gasp* ride there...
not sure if your there due to military but if so you chances will run out...
