I was thinking about getting a Surly Fixxer to convert this wheelset to fixed, and then just running brakeless cause...i'd be offroad.
am I crazy to consider riding fixed offroad?

I've got one too. Built it for winter, actually, but it was a blast on the trails.
Now it's got fenders, studs and a rack, but I'm not favouring it in the snow after all.
Rigid steel frames look great with a fixed gear and big knobbies.
