squuegeesunny. Your question brings up a good point. B/C different peoples opinions vary dramatically on this subject, a specific sig size restriction/ policy may be the only way to go. Doohickie made a good point earlier, about the lack of a policy and I think he is right.

Once the size restriction is in place there will be no subjectivity on this issue, but we can still all work within the size limit to express ourselves.

Scrod, I understand where you are coming from with wanting a PM rather than a thread started on the subject but as the OP was saying, there are more people than just you with massive signatures. Starting the thread gets it out to everyone and not just you or whoever else he sent the message to. Just saying.

@wm I dont think you are making the situation any better. We are all adults, no need to handle this like a fight at recess. Scrod, I don't mind your signature, but it is one of the biggest sigs in this forum and you do comment ridiculously a lot. Maybe you could make it slightly smaller next time you come out with a new shirt.

relax, its a forum. I put them in quotations for a reason. I dont think Scrod is gonna storm out of work and go beat carleton up wherever he is in the country.

Scrod: it sounds like you have two options:
A) Talk rediculously less
B) make your sig smaller so people dont have to scroll as much

This is so hilarious

Squeegee, I personally think your sig is fine (it probably helps that it's stationary), but I also have my sig, so perhaps I am not the best person to ask . . .

I'll change it when I get off from work if it really annoys people that much.

*Rhetorical question: everyone loves banana gifs!

Then people who are interested would be able to check them out, but it wouldn't get in the way of conversation and forum flow.

Don't hate on the dancing cat, though he may be large he brings so much joy.

JesusBananas, can I request that you DON'T remove that sig? It's quite possibly the main reason I come to these forums. I do a voice over for it every time.

Okay not really but I do find it quite funny.

I've had sigs blocked for years. I even forgot they existed until this thread rudely reminded me. Looking at the ones posted here, it doesn't look like I've missed anything worthwhile.

Same here, and I think this is the right solution for those who don't like them. Seems to me sigs are intended as a way to personalize posts, and it comes as no surprise to me that I generally don't like the content. But as long as I can block them, who cares? Why bother restricting the content if I can just ignore it? Those who want to see others' animated gifs, links, self-congratulatory bs, etc, can do so and the rest of us can just skip it.
