SE Lager?
Been looking to try something different than my aluminum Langster. First I was eyeing some of the Kilo's like a stripper model, but they are a dime a dozen. In my searching last night I stumbled over the SE Lager, a good deal on an 09 model. I wanted a white frame any way, win, steel, win win, and standardized part sizing, win win win. Anyone care to fire some +/- my way? Looks like a decent deal, lose the rear brake and I am upgrading the wheelset probably. But what about the other parts, decent quality? I really like the fact that it's a 27.2 seatpost and 1 1/8 steer cause I have tons of parts that size sitting around my garage, like my King headset that hasn't seen a frame in over a year because everything has switched to ingergrated headsets.

It's a fine bike. As with any entry level stock bike, you'll probably want to change out the contact points (saddle, bars, pedals) to something that suits your own comfort. If the size and price are right, go for it. You could get plenty of miles out of it without upgrading anything.

i rode one for about a year and i loved it. i had a white 09. the only complaint i have is with the geometry, which is personal anyways. it's definitely more of a road geometry.
the parts were perfectly fine. good pedals, good cranks, decent wheels and hubs, good handlebars, horrible saddle. my wheel nuts were 17mm for some reason though.

hey you have the 09, that's what I'm looking at getting. Can the stickers be removed, or are the cleared over? Not a big deal, just wonderin.

i used to have the 09. sold it a couple months ago. upgraded to a cinelli vigorelli now.

Langester has a nice frame (for a road based frame). Why would you want to down grade to something cheaper?

I like mine. But mine is like an 07 or earlier or something. Except that I have a 26.2 seatpost, I enjoy the bike. Its comfortable and because of what it is, I don't worry about it getting banged up.
