I dropped an iPhone into a toilet years ago. No case or anything. Couldn't do the bag of rice trick because I was at a conference for work, but turned it off and didn't touch it for 5 days. It kept on truckin' for another 2 years.

Hope so. I've done the rice thing before with mixed results. Fortunately, the iPhone didn't **** itself off once it got wet, and the top button and touch screen still worked(had to shut it off), so I'm hoping that's an indication that it's at least not totally fried.

also i believe the iphone 4 and 4S have sensors that detect water damage now, so if its totally monged dont expect applecare to cover it
the rice and leaving it for a few days should work, the key is to leave it for longer than you think it will take and dont try to turn it on before then, thats what will fry it for good

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago. It still works but has since been demoted to backup iPod.
Today I should be getting the last of the parts I need (VO Porteur bars/city brake levers) to start building the townie. I also realized that once the baby seat is mounted, I won't have access to the downtube shifters. Derp. Guess I'll be ordering some Paul thumbies today.

Today I am sore as hell from eating it on yesterday's ride. No gripping handlebars for a couple days probably...

Guys,
What the **** did I miss?! There's a locked apology thread. Fill me in brahs. Keep it tl;dr though.

Sucks too, cuz I was hoping he was going to be a cool guy. I need someone in Chicago to ride with besides Kaz and my 45-year-old friend that never goes over 13 mph.

Today, I got my package from the bike lord containing much of the parts needed to complete my 722. I realized this bike is going to be heavy as hell..
Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Just got the mail... besides money received that little part I was looking for so I can now install the Ultegra brifters on my road bike.
My daughter and I are planning on going on an early Saturday morning ride as she wants to test her new road bike so maybe I will have my bike ready as well... will need something zippy if I expect to keep up with her.

The hubs are still the exact same functionally. I'm not putting so many holes in them that they'll break, probably less than in the pic above. And the bearings are still very well maintained. They'll ride like the day I bought them, except be holier and shinier.

Today I got my hands on my friend's selle anatomica titanico to test ride through the weekend. Pewter and leather has never looked so good. A bit apprehensive of the seemingly massive cut out but I can't wait for the tomorrow's ride, looks promising.
It's his primary but I saw my chance when he told me he wasn't going to be able to make it tomorrow in order to recoup from an injury.
