Got hit by a car 9 days ago, driver blew past a stop sign and hit me.
Broke my right femur in 3, hurt my right shoulder, no fracture but still hurts a lot.
Had to have surgery to put some screws and a plate on my femur and now I need to focus on the physiotherapy, in about 2 months I'll be able to put some weight on my right leg, until then I'll be using a wheelchair and crutches once my shoulder heals.

The bike's fine and the driver's insurance will pay for all of my medical bills.

**** man i hope you make a full recovery, you had just gotten over the last crash and then this **** happens. people man, why?

Yesterday I took the day off work to go to a members-only preview of the new stingray exhibit at the Shedd Aquarium. I got to pet stingrays! It was so cool.

That's my hand petting stingrays!!! by miss_kaz, on Flickr

Then I went to my favorite beer bar and got drunk for a friend's birthday and now I'm hungover. Good day.

my 3 year old and i rode 3.4 miles today at a Kidical Mass event, then rode from there to a kids' museum and back. That's pretty far on 12 inch wheels. /proud dad

Congrats on getting married and nice job with the rays!

I love rays...have 3 fresh water rays in my fish tanks.

skielbasa 05-11-13 02:07 PM

Thanks for the congrats, and to stay on topic: today I went to the zoo for the first time in years... Also got to pet sting rays lol.

I love petting them. They feel so smooth and leathery.

This morning, I went climbing, and tonight is prom. Should be a good day.

So in the Mekong River there are rays that get to be 5 meters long with stingers that are like a foot or two long. Pretty scary. but awesome as well.

But today I bought a Ciocc road bike with Columbus SL tubing and a mix of Campy Record and Dura Ace parts. All for $75. So stoked man

First real trail run of the year. Snow is melting slow and most everything is either still covered or too covered for any kind of real running.

Muffin Man 05-11-13 04:23 PM

Its a 3000+ gram wheelset.

I'm either going to email them and check or just buy it and see what happens.

?

7lb wheelset? i'd pass...

Adrian_ 05-11-13 05:10 PM

Today I took my grandma and sister out to go see Iron Man 3, was a good day.

Huffandstuff 05-11-13 05:15 PM

Got my new wheelset ordered today, H+Son Archetype with All-City Track hubs, gonna do radial front/3x rear. Can't wait to get rid of my B43's.

Then I took the long way home from the bike shop ( http://app.strava.com/activities/53680454 ) was gonna go for a century but allergies started kicking my ass and my eyes got so swollen I could barely see.

seau grateau 05-11-13 05:46 PM

Today I forgot to eat all day.

Dannihilator 05-11-13 06:15 PM

Today I had a good 40 miles.

Same here. Still looking for decent pedals and other random parts for an upcoming custom build but (threat of) rain and coughing kid. Last year's jumble is where I scored the Trek and almost bought a complete Serotta pista from the Trexlertown rental fleet. But at least i still have money.

Today the missus took the toddler mover out while I took the Trek to the park. She's only 2 inches shorter than me so she just had to drop the saddle a bit and it fit fine. Didn't like the actual saddle though so now I have the go-ahead to look for a new one.

Also got a text this morning from my mom that she and my dad hit a deer this morning. They weren't hurt at all but the front of their Matrix was totaled. The only thing my dad said was "it's a shame - at 204,000 miles the engine was just getting broken in."

Leukybear 05-11-13 06:29 PM

Today I rode my roadie as usual and then set up and troubleshooted my s4 with a dualshock 3+gameklip and a bunch of my favorite games.

I hate you for this - at least until you can post pics of it. Ciocc is like one of those mystical brands for me. So rare in these parts

Edit - the above Is jpsawyer's quote, which I obviously mangled too badly

Today I watched racecars with the sqrl. It was a good day.

Relaxing day today... hit the surplus store out in Boring, Oregon and got some great deals on stuff and think I need to go back tomorrow and pick up the mil spec bivy sack I did not buy today... $29.00 is a pretty unbeatable deal and am sure I will get some good use out of it this summer when I am cycle touring and then I can leave the tent at home.

Stealth camping anyone ?

:D

Mumonkan 05-12-13 12:15 PM
