The mini key just lets you gain entry to the car. It won't let you start it.

Nope. Ford C-Max. I drove a Prius and it's gutless. The C-Max has decent power, but gets considerably lower mileage than the Prius.

I guess it'll go along the lines of realizing there's the hidden key in the fob, opening the door excitedly and having that build up of hope dashed realizing there's no ignition key switch to begin with.

Am converted for sure! It was a gamble. I put all my money and effort into believing I would like it when building my bike. And I do like it. It's fun and I feel connected with my bike. All the cliches are true.

Whoa, 80's electronic steering? Jeez
My 1986 Mustang had manual windows and I loved it. Manual door locks too. My new car has this stupid keyless pushbutton start, and if the transmitter battery dies the car won't start. Also, the steering is electric with no direct mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels. Scary !

Today I: threw a spare pack of CR2032's in the glove box & a print out on how to replace the battery for both his & her cars.
Surprisingly they both used the same battery.
