Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks.

I just bought a seat binder bolt. Mine is stripped and I'll have to drill it out or something.

Thanks. No new build, just tweaking and upgrading existing bikes.

Gonna set the fixed-gear bike up for heart rate zone training and have wanted cadence and speed since I bought the bike. The Edge 25 seems as unobtrusive as possible easily removed as needed.

I got a new chain and some celeste bartape for my Bianchi San Jose. New chain is much quieter than the old one. Went on a 41 mile ride in the country. Tried to climb Merrill Mt. but it was double digit steep and about a third of the way up, my left foot unclipped and that was all she wrote. I don't think I could've made it anyways; I was too deep in the red zone.

bill Battle in Huntsville, AL | Cycling Social Network | MapMyRide

Did the ride with ~15.5 mph average speed. I run a 42-15 gearing on the fixed side.

Specialized Power Expert saddle

Replaces the taint torturer aka Fizik Arione saddle. First impressions are that its wider 143 mm and encourages a fast and aggressive ride. Everyone is talking about this new saddle and I had to splurge and even paid retail. 220 grams on my scale is even lighter than advertised.

Found a fizik arione tri at the goodwill yesterday for 5 bucks, will probably throw it on the track bike once the current fizik dies.

Leader Bikes I803 Fork 1 1 8'' Carbon | eBay

Edit - It was only $95.40 when I bought it, but now it's back up to $159. So, i got a good deal, but now it's nothing special. Definitely would not spend over $100 to upgrade the VISP.

Also, the podia kit I got is very racefit, and the sleeves are pro length too. Very pleased, and I'm glad I don't have to wear baggy bibs as often.

*high five* I'm just building because I found a set of hubs that were too cheap not to buy.

I had a bit of fun over the holidays.

Reflective Giro Empires:

POC DO Blades...

Some pink POC Raceday gloves to match the pink helmet, these gloves are my favorite, no padding, super comfy, and easy on/off.

Some new kits...

New chain for the cinelli...I noticed the chain on my beater was in need of replacing, so we'll be doing a chain swap. Local guy had the super toughness chain listed in an ebay group for $50, thought that was a decent deal.

Seems the only thing I didn't buy was what I needed, new tires.
