Shot of my 8 year old daughter and I riding around the neighborhood.
Once school is out we'll be riding together in the morning before I go to work.
This fall we plan to ride the 2-day, 148 mile Bike Around the Bay ride.

She's not pedalling

The other day we celebrated our silver wedding anniversary. After the photo (below) we got into real cycling garb and rode 80 miles. Lovely weather. Not hot like 25 years ago.

Note: She's not pedalling. She's just there to look pretty. [and yes I have her full permission to say that].

Chain is still relatively new (750 km at time of photo, no rain); our daughter, who took the photo, was responsible for ensuring that the dress and chain did not encounter each other. I actually lubed and cleaned the chain after the photo. Had the chain been less clean to begin with, a quick wrapping with waxed paper would have done the job, and been invisible in the photo.

From this morning's Coffee shop loop, on the the Eaton Trail on a bluff overlooking the San Joaquin River. That is our Suntour-equipped 1992 Burley Rock 'N Roll.

Ritterview, those outfits place you in the LGBRC, no? My company, SugarCRM, is the primary sponsor.

Yup, I'm a member of SugarCRM/LGBRC, (the 2008 USA Cycling Div. 1 Club of the Year!).

Mrs. Ritterview isn't yet a member, but I think she looks quite fetching in the kit. When we get a more race-worthy tandem we'll be doing our time trials, etc. under the Sugar CRM/LGBRC banner.

One of the tandem-specific benefits of joining a large club with a full men's/women's kit selection is it the optimum way of achieving a coordinated tandem team appearance. Otherwise, it is difficult to find cycling clothing that matches for both sexes. Even if you can find jersey and bibs/shorts that match, you won't find vest, jacket, arm warmers, etc. With a team kit, the problem is definitively and optimally solved.

Where is the Eaton trail? I am in Roseville and am always looking for nice rides outside my normal routes.

The Lewis S. Eaton Trail is a nice, wide trail along the San Joaquin River. I wouldn't say, however, it is worth a pilgrimage from Roseville, as it is only 6 miles or so. It is how I get to work in the morning. If you are in Fresno, the ride I posted at Motion Based is a nice 12 mile loop, that could be extended to the North and East along Friant, or to the South and West through the park and along Audubon. If you wanted some more hills and distance, a ride to Humphrey Station might be nice.

We finally got a photo of us out riding during an epic day in the Alps. Of course, my stoker couldn't resist the temptation to clown around:

I posted a brief description of this ride on another thread, here.

That's funny. You'll have to tell us what type of comments you get wearing the Duke and UNC jerseys.
