looking to build a track bike
I'm looking to regularly attend the circuits at Valley Preferred..and I wnat to build a bike strictly for the track .I don't have an unlimited supply of money, and on ebay I found a cheap frameset..the only problem is that I think the geometry may be a little lazy.
For example the headtube is 72.5 whereas a lot of bikes iv looked up have a 75 degree headtube..
Any insight on geometry benefits would be apprecitaed...I'm sure the frameset would get the job done and get me started but I want some opinions first and some knowledge on what to look for regarding geometry on the track
Here's the bike

I have to be honest, a frameset for $150 makes me nervous. Let me ask this: what is your budget? There are a ton of track bikes for sale on Craigslist. Also, look at the message boards for some of the tracks. I always build my bikes but ended up buying a new Felt TK3 for my first track bike. I do currently have a brand new Tiemeyer frameset waiting to be built. But depending on what kind of parts availability you have and what you can pick up I'd seriously look for a used bike or an entry level new bike. My Felt has a 75* head tube. The 72.5* head tube seems more like a road bike geometry. I believe people have discussed the Specialized Langster geometry and even that has a 73* head tube angle. Others with more experience will chime in. Good luck!

If you are serious about racing, do not buy that ebay bike. Again, find the threads.
