What are your thoughts on new threads about equipment?

We all like to nerd out on equipment.

Should we have:

- One thread on all things equipment
- One thread per category (bars, pedals, wheels, etc..)
- Some other way?

Thoughts and suggestions?

I think a thread on all things equipment would get messy too quickly. I think categories would work out?

This works for me because you tend to get a good discussion on experiences/pros/cons for particular equipment. Most "one thread per category" stuff I've seen gets disjointed and often lacks in detail.

Having said that, nothing works that well if the SEARCH function isn't used....

they could be indexed in a sticky thread with links. Someone would have to do the indexing.

I like the idea of one thread per question.

What's the goal - a tidy forum? Limiting the number of "help me choose between this bike and that bike" threads?

Actually, to foster more talk about equipment. New equipment, reviews, etc... It was really a random thought, which is why I asked.

Gotcha. Yeah, I like a thread per type of equipment.

Sounds good to me. Anything I get anyway is "New" equipment except usually used. So your Used becomes my New...lol

Each piece of equipment gets it;s own thread. We already have a wheel thread. Seems like a good template
