Think every lugged steel frame is a piece of "art". Actually most are a piece of crap. (Not that's there's anything wrong riding a piece of crap.)

Can only associate fixed gears with the current hipster fad. Fixed gears are THE roots of racing bicycles, and offer some of the best training and most fun you can have on a bike. If you do not get that you are lame.

Have given up on racing or riding hard so they can totally write off the usefullness of carbon fibre and modern components for everybody.

Hey, That's me!

1980's to the mid '90's was the "Golden Age" IMO
Art or not, lugs are nicer to look at.
Ride a Boneshaker if you want to impress someone about "back to the roots" crap.
