I have a pair of silver wings I wear on my helmet when I do MS fundraising rides. I've done a total of 19 since 1995, the running total I have raised is just a little under 25k. Many people have positive comments "Nice wings, Do they help" as they fly by me like I'm standing still. I never really tell anybody why I wear the wings. Sounds kind of corny but there's a line from the Bette Middler song wind beneath my wings "I can fly higher than an eagle, if you are the wind beneath my wings. My wife is my wind, I do the pedaling but she is the driving force that carries me to the finish line. She was diagnosed with MS 1990, it's a horrible thing to watch someone's health decline from a major illness.
