Yeah grab the Nishiki. The Gazelle is a junker. There were some nice Gazelles but that is not one of them.

If you swap out bars/stem/derailleurs the Nishiki could be 22.5LBS or less. Plus the Nishiki has all standard parts. The gazelle might have an odd bottom bracket thread.
