+1 on finding the o-ring/belt at the hardware store. I have those on more than one of my bikes. I like 'em cuz they don't need batteries and I don't need accuracy to .01 meter. I just retired one that had been in a car-bike wreck with me a couple years ago and started being a bit generous. Still made over 6000 miles before going nuts and only cost me a couple of bucks. I think I have 3 or 4 heads on the shelf for back up.
