You obviously haven't worn contacts riding. The wind in your eyes dries them or lifts them unless you're wearing glasses/sunglasses then you're right back to square one.
I have not found that to be the case at all. I only wear contacts; riding, driving and open boat at 40+mph, etc. Eyes naturally tear enough to keep them moist.
