Vancouverite here too. November 2009 proved to be a washout. Almost daily rain. Have no problem riding in the rain during the day with my prescription glasses. I can see through droplets fine, if I can avoid wiping it down. I rode for 3 hours with pissing rain on me, didn't wipe my glasses once, and I was fine. It's amazing how one's mind adjusts and sees through the rain droplets. But that's during the day. Unfortunately on weekdays, I can put in mileage only at night. And that's where my problem is. On streets with high street lights, it's fine. On streets like Cypress or W. 10th, where it's really dark and the lamp posts are low, the glare from these lights are right in my eyes and are compounded by the droplets on my glasses. It's almost a requirement to reaaaaally slow down, even when you "think" the streets are empty. Plan B is taking different routes at night. And I can't wear contacts, my eyes reacted so badly to them when I tried them a few years ago. Oh well, it is what it is on the Wet Coast.
