The bike IS a mid 70's Colnago, it has been repainted and had cable guides added.
The "mexican" bikes you are referring to are Windsors that look like Cinellis and some Benottos. I have never heard of knock off Colnagos from Mexico and if there were, this isn't one of them.

Yeah. The Colnago Mexico bikes were indeed that, first produced in 1975, made in Italy. With "mexican" above, I was referring to a slew of Colnago (and Gios, among other Italian brands, but the Gios case got a lot of ink) semi-quasi-legal copies produced in Mexico in the late 70s and early 80s... Not bad bikes, the frame material was the same, but attention to detail was not.
