I'd say you will notice a significant difference in the ride since you won't be able to run nearly as wide of a tire. With an external rim width of only 19mm, you'll probably max out with a 28mm or 32mm tire. On pavement, this still allows for a comfortable ride, but it won't have that same plush "balloon" ride. Combine that with the fact that Deep-Vs are rather rigid rims, and it's got to feel different. On the plus side, the smaller, lighter, higher pressure tires might feel more efficient (if that's desired).

If you had disc brakes, there are other choices from Velocity. The VXC and Blunt come with many color choices but are for disc brakes only.
