Not long after posting my Mongoose, I lucked out and caught my landlord throwing out a Trek 820 in my size. After swapping all the parts and making a few changes (Avocet M30, LX hubs laced to Mavic rims, Velo Orange Anti-Theft skewers, Velo Orange squeal free brake pads, and On-One Midges bars), this is how she sits:

I am somewhat contemplating going to 1X8or9 with a larger chainring, swapping to some more inelegantly designed fenders, and I would love to put together an inexpensive front dynohub wheel, but this configuration has been great the last few months.
