I bought this Schwinn Sierra new in the mid 80's beat the s--t out of it for a few years then hung it up in the corner. I have just started commuting. Yes I thought winter in Illinois would be a good time to start, so I brought it down dressed it up with fenders, rack, lights, etc
And today it was 8 degrees out with 15 plus mph winds and still going strong it’s a tank
Notice the rear u brake, strong with great stopping power but clogged with mud easy in wet muddy conditions or Biopace chain wheels (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/biopace.html). Remember these when they first came out.
