Wow I feel like I already read this thread..... Oh wait.... I did.... In the Racing forum.

A couple things people were saying that I remember that need to be cleared up:

1. He was not on a road bike.
2. Street racing is probably illegal on a bike, but don't worry about that. If anything you would get like reckless bicycle operation or something, probably nothing.
3. I've heard bicycle tires squeal. Not road tires, but certain ATB tires.
4. You need to buy better pads and they will last a lot longer than 2 weeks. I have had the same pads for months and I regularly descend mountains for long periods of time where I am going close to 50 and have to brake hard for turns, etc.
5. MrC, there are more events in cycling that Crits and TTs. There are also Road Races, Circuit races, hill climbs, TTTs, all of the track events, downhill MTBing, Cross Country Mtb, Short Track MTb. I could go on and on.
6. BMX bikes are not a fixed gear.
