Risers handlebars + brake levers

So I'm not sure if you guys have this problem too, but I didn't anticipate such a problem when I ordered my first pair of risers. So the problem is basically this, after cutting my riser bars down to preferred length and putting on the grips, I noticed that the grips ended right where the bars starts to angle downwards towards the clamps, leaving me no room for my brake levers. Do you guys have any suggestion on how to put on my brake levers?

Riding brakeless isn't much of a choice for me because on my commute, there are a lot of steep hills, and that should explain everything.

Please give your thoughts/advices/suggestions on my predicament. I'm really excited about these new risers but can't ride'em far til I find a way to get my brake levers on
