Brake assembly wear from cable housing - normal? (Pics)

So when I first got my bike, it had what looks kind of like a "dent" in the front brake assembly. I thought it was a "feature", as one of the cables in front, whenever I was steering straight, "rested" in the "dent". And thus I never inquired about it.

Fast forward about two months to today, I was showing a friend this, and he said that it was definitely something that is not a feature , so I probably will be taking it to the bike shop soon when I have the time. In the meantime, what do you guys think? I tried to take pictures, but this is the only one that can clearly show it.

I assume Shimano will replace it, hopefully.
