I must be crazy,I have always wanted a pair of look keos.Lusted after them I have, but I told myself I have ultegra don't need new pedal's.
Then I saw the new keo max2 pedals in a shop.In a moment of madness I bought them. This was crazy as my ultegra are only a year old and still have the original cleat's.
Anyway I could not wait to use them. The weather was ok a little cold but I was curious how they would perform.
First impressions, quite like my ultegra though not as wide.I found them to have a vague feeling I was clipped in but it didn't feel as secure that's ok just a little different.Much lighter pedal though And you would notice this.I have heard about the look squeak, but on thought this happened after the cleats were worn.Well mine squeaked on my first go,this is very disappointing.
Its not so loud but it did surprise me,honestly I think the new ceo is a fine pedal. Its light it has a wide platform but the squeak and my cleats are nearly worn out after only a few short spins.
I am now going back to my ultegra ,ok they are heavier but a wider platform much much longer cleat life and no fu*king squeaking. I was warned about this from people on this very site. Now I feel like a dork and it's my own fault.
Shimano pedals are IMO better for the regular guy.Much better cleat life no squeaking I think they will also last much longer.Be careful what you wish for,I know it's only a pedal but it's so so disappointing cleat's shot in less than a month!
