This is very typical for a tourist store in NYC. You cannot avoid that. 5th Ave is a mighty high rent area and the OP apparently just has a corner there selling his bikes. At least this store does something that a lot of other similar stores in The City don't do: it rents bikes. And that is a good thing. In most 'tourist destinations' you go, you will find a whole bunch of these stores....
