This goes back a few years. I was checking the outside pile of bikes at the local Salvation Army thrift store. The "good" bikes were inside the store and sold for $12 and the outside "junkers" sold for $3. Well, I found a late 60's Bottecchia with Campagnolo components except that it had rusted out steel rims and spokes (but still laced to Campy large-flange hubs) and a destroyed seat and rustey chain. With a bit of work and a large trash can I had a good frame in need of paint, but with the original decals, and a pile of old Campy components. My profit on e-Bay, accounting for the $3 cost, was over $400.
