Mudguard mounting option

I see a lot of Bluemels/SKS's mounted with the stays left long and the little rubber tips in place. Eventually these disappear into the ozone and the stay shreds your flesh. This method is a little tidier. Mount them, ride them until your sure they're positioned correctly. Mark the stays almost flush to the nut and cut them. Invert the nut and the end of the stay tucks away nicely.

Guess I should clean the salt way but I'm not convinced winters gone for good.
